“GOT KIDNEY?”

MICKEY JONES NEEDS YOUR HELP.  He has entertained, done charitable work, and taken on challenging roles for many decades. However, he is now faced with the biggest role of his life: kidney failure.

Three days a week and several hours each day Mickey is connected to a dialysis machine. He is up and about and working but that the disease, while serious, is under control at this time. But eventually, if Mickey does NOT get a kidney, he will lose this battle.

Even with those he knows and his own notoriety, he has been unable to obtain a new kidney. Efforts were made to have his name added to the transplant list at Cedars Sinai Medical Center, however, he is considered too old to get a living kidney. You see our government cuts off all transplants at 75 years of age and Mickey is 70. There is currently a six year wait. So time is of the essence.

Mickey Jones is one of the most compassionate men you will ever meet. He is caring, selfless, and ever-giving of himself, time, and energy. But now it’s time for the tables to be turned. Six of his friends and family have already stepped forward to offer a kidney. However, one by one they were eliminated for various medical reasons. Now we must reach beyond that circle.

This letter is written in urgency and distress. Whether you are a friend, fan or family member, you are reading this because Mickey has touched your life. We need to find a way to make him smile again, a way to help his life return to a level of normalcy, a way to keep him in our lives for as long as possible.

Will you help?

Do you know someone who can help?

Once again, the question is asked:

"GOT KIDNEY?"

Please spread the word…

Thank you so much

From Mickey:

“I am honored that you would even consider this sacrifice for me. Here is the first step.  Call Cedars-Sinai Medical Center at (310)423-8463.  Speak to Jessica and let her know that you want to be a living kidney donor to Mickey Jones.  She will send you some paperwork to be returned to Cedars.  The next step is testing the blood to look for a match.  They will set that up to done locally so you don't have to come to Cedars-Sinai. And remember, there are no costs to you.  This is all covered by my insurance.  If we are a match, the last step is the actual transplant. My son wanted to donate a kidney to me but because he is a smoker, he was taken out of the loop.”

Gratefully, Mickey
